Woodstock, VA - Richard John Mrosko, 74, of Woodstock, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 21, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish (Saint Nicholas Church), 764 5th Street Struthers, OH.
Born on September 12, 1951, in Youngstown, Ohio, Richard was the son of the late John and Mildred (Holecko) Mrosko. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and went on to build a long and dedicated career in retail management, where he worked for both Kmart and A.C. Moore. Richard will be remembered for his strong work ethic, steady leadership, and the commitment and genuine care he showed to everyone he worked alongside throughout his career.
Upon retiring, Richard embraced his passions with enthusiasm and heart. He found great joy in woodworking by crafting thoughtful handmade gifts for family and friends. He also continued his lifelong love of history through extensive genealogy research, contributing to a growing and detailed combined family tree that will remain a treasured legacy.
Richard’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marie (Rucci) Mrosko; his children, Stephen Mrosko of Johnstown, PA, Matthew Mrosko (Sarah) of Timberville, VA, Timothy Mrosko (Shannon) of Frederick, MD, David Mrosko (Danielle) of Langhorne, PA, Christine Mrosko of Altoona, PA, and Rachel Mersinger (Luke) of Maryville, TN. He is also survived by his brother, John M. Mrosko; his father-in-law, Armando Rucci; and his cherished grandchildren—Leah, Stephen Jr., David Jr., Max, Dylan, Lucy, James, Madielynn, Kailynn, and Logan.
Though he is no longer with us, his spirit and the warmth he shared will remain in the hearts of all who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to your local food bank in his memory.
