Robert Bevilacqua Obituary

Boardman – Robert F. Bevilacqua, 85, of Boardman, made his transition to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Robert will always be remembered for his humbleness, generosity, loyalty and being a true gentleman. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

He was born January 9, 1939 in Youngstown, the son of Frank and Amelia (Acri) Bevilacqua and was proud to have grown up on the Eastside of Youngstown.

 Robert was a 1957 graduate East High School and enlisted in the United States Navy on January 8, 1957 where he proudly served our country. Robert was aboard the USS Canberra where his military occupation was a stenographer and earned an Honorable Discharge on December 1, 1959. Upon receiving his discharge Robert began his career in construction for a couple years before attending school in Elkins, Texas for FCC License. Robert founded WNIO Radio Station and then worked as a salesman for WYTV and Jim Pace Pontiac. He retired after working for over 30 years for Jim Pace Pontiac as manager in 2004.

Robert was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and the ARCO Club.

Robert was a master for making wooden model ships of all sizes, airplanes and doll houses along with being known as “Mr. Fix It”. He also enjoyed playing golf and bocce but he mostly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His wife and the love of his life that he is now reunited with, the former Marie C. Catheline whom he married May 21, 1960 at Immaculate Conception Church passed away on August 12, 2022 after they shared 62 years of marriage together.  

Robert leaves behind to hold onto his precious memories his beloved daughters Lisa (Timothy) Guy of Cleveland and Laura (Adam) Everhart of Canfield, his five grandchildren whom he adored Nicholas (Kara) Guy, Alanna Guy, Alexis (James) Althans, Mason (Olivia) Everhart and Madeline Everhart, his great grandchildren that brought him much joy Capron Jack Althans and Calvin Guy Althans a brother Ronald (Debbie) Bevilacqua and a sister Patricia Nativio along with nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. 

 
Besides his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by his great grandson Crew Alexander Guy.   

Family and friends may pay their respects to Robert on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 11:00 am until 12:15 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221, Market St., Boardman. 

There will be a prayer service held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 12:20 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman, with the Very Rev. Msgr. John Zuraw, J.C.L., V.G. as celebrant. 

Entombment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens Canfield with military honors provided by the great men of the Ellsworth VFW Post 9571.

Robert’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the home caregivers and entire staff of Sanctuary Hospice of Ohio for their care and compassion shown to them and Robert throughout this difficult time.
