Boardman – Ronald J. Zarlengo, 80, Boardman, formerly of New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly Thursday evening on January 18, 2024 at his residence.
He was born June 4, 1943 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the son of Eugene and Jennie (Gadzia) Zarlengo. Ronald lived most of his life in New Castle until most recently moving to Boardman to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
Ron graduated from Mohawk High School and then proudly served in United States Navy from 1961 until receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1965. After serving in the Navy, he attended Youngstown State University then began his career in the family business alongside his father and brother at Zarlengo Brothers Paving in Hillsville. Ron then became a Real Estate Appraiser and owned and operated Ron Zarlengo Appraisals until he retired in June of 2023.
Ron had many passions throughout his life. He had a love for food, making people laugh and spending time with his family and friends. Ron will always be remembered for his humor and as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
To hold onto his memories, Ronald leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of over 49 years. She is the former Laureen Champ whom he married on September 7, 1974. He also leaves his beloved two daughters, Lexi (Brian) Battaglia and Saesan (Jeremy) Mollenkopf, his granddaughters whom he adored Milana and Minka, grandsons Alex and Anthony, and his sister Karen Borraccini along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Zarlengo.
