Boardman – Shirley A. Liga, 90, of Boardman, passed away on Wednesday evening, April 18, 2025.
Shirley was born on January 18, 1935 in Lowellville, the daughter of James and Mary (Smarrelli) Rotz and was a lifelong resident.
She graduated from Lowellville High School and then completed her training to become an X-Ray Technician at Southside Hospital. Shirley’s career spanned over 40 years working between Southside and Northside Hospitals as an X-Ray Technician and EEG Technician.
Shirley was a member of St. Dominic Church and the Mount Carmel Society in Lowellville.
Shirley enjoyed traveling with her husband and doing volunteer work with Hospice of the Valley.
Her husband of over 21 years Robert Liga whom she married April 6, 1991 passed away on March 25, 2012.
Shirley leaves behind to hold onto her memories two nieces Brenda Shick of Canal Fulton and Susan (Greg) Augustine of Massillon, two great nephews Aric (Kristi) Augustine and Neil Augustine and a great niece Mariel Augustine along with cousins and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister Gloria Shick.
There will be a private service held and burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Lowellville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi and Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
