Vickie Gaughen Obituary

Youngstown - Vickie Gaughen (née Vaughn), 69, of Youngstown, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic.

Vickie was born on April 4, 1956, in Youngstown, the daughter of Perry and Mary Louise (Antonucci) Vaughen. She graduated from Ursuline High School and lettered in track followed by attending Youngstown State University.

Vickie moved to California in 1980 and met the love of her life while working at Moden Age Print Shop and they got married on August 6, 1983. Vickie returned to the Youngstown area in 2020 and was a member of CAFH a Spiritual Group. She also volunteered for many churches and senior citizen centers throughout the valley.

Vickie had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed listing to Motown music, dancing and socializing with all her friends, and watching her kids play sports. Vickie also looked forward to spending time with her husband at their home in Costa Rica.

Vickie lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for those around her. Throughout her life, Vickie was known for her generous spirit and deep commitment to caring for others. As a caregiver by profession and by nature, she found purpose in supporting those in need and brought comfort to many through her kindness and empathy. Her nurturing heart touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Vickie also was a true matriarch for her family. She loved being active in her children and grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.

Vickie shared 43 devoted years of marriage with her husband Brian Gaughen. Together they built a loving family that was the center of her world. She is lovingly remembered by her son Dylan, her daughter Danielle (Terry) Black, as well as her cherished grandchildren Trinty and Tianna and her beloved dog Tux.  Her family was a source of immense pride and joy throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mary Louise and Perry Vaughn and her devoted dog and sidekick Harley. Their memory remained close to her heart always.

Vickie's legacy is one of love—love that she gave freely and abundantly to family, friends, and those she cared for throughout her life. Her warmth will be deeply missed but forever remembered. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
